“We couldn’t run our HPC experiments in the cloud due to security issues (and cost), so we had to run them locally on our own hardware. Plus, we knew we had to modernize to Kubernetes for many reasons. Being able to modernize our HPC infrastructure to Kubernetes has been an enormous advantage for us on so many levels. Tovi is basically a super simple SLURM for Kubernetes. There is one single YAML file that is used to switch from running code locally to running on Tovi. No more tracking versions on the server.”
